From the NSFG, several tables detailing the major reasons for sexual abstinence (i.e. for those who have abstained until the point of taking the survey) by religious identification. Specifically, the results are taken from the Cycle 6 (2002) Female Respondent File of the NSFG, which was based on the responses of 7,643 females between the ages of 15 and 44 years of age. The tables are described in a row by column way, along with the method of percentaging (row or column). The data here should clear up a few misconceptions about the interaction between religion and sexual abstinence. This post will provide some of the necessary foundation and evidence for a later post on a similar subject.

NB: The tables are repetitive, but I've added the superfluous ones for those who may want them.
