A chart detailing the number of children a household has for each income level (for the entire family). I recoded the income variables to make the chart easier to read. I've set the respondent age range to 40-60 in order to get something closer to the total number of children the R will have in their life.
Now, breaking it down by marital status (and switching to R's income):
Married:
Divorced:
Single:
Now breaking it down by gender (40-60, R's income only):
For married men:
For married women:
----
Note: For the highest income level, the number of Rs is usually quite low (4 - never; 14 - divorced; 61 - married).
----
Questions:
How many children have you ever had? Please count all that were born alive at any time (including any you had from a previous marriage).
In which of these groups did your earnings from [OCCUPATION] from all sources for [last year] fall? That is, before taxes or other deductions.
